Firebird
Computer - Horror Action RPG
Firebird is a walkthrough of a horror action RPG made for the end of my Bachelor's.
I was part of a team of 4 Game Artists working on this project.
Based on the Russian tales of "The Bird of Fire", Firebird takes place in a setting inspired by the 30s.
In a world where fossil energies are too rare to be used worldwide, humanity decided to open their minds to a more organic kind of energy: biomechanical and biological energies.
But with a fastly growing population, few are the remaining forests able to generate enough power for society.
However, a unique golden tree exists, and its fruits are a concentrate of pure energy. Whoever possesses this tree in such a setting also possesses power over anything and anyone. The Tsarina, Lady Demian, knows it. And luckily, this tree belongs to her, and its power too.
So when one morning, some of her so dear fruits go missing, she sees red.
Words on the street are that an unknown hero brought the energy downtown, in the poorer districts, to help people get some of this rare fuel.
The underlying revolutionary feeling in everyone’s heart is about to explode. To prevent that, Lady Demian sends her three sons after the mysterious leader, the Firebird.
Helped by his loyal janitor Greywolf, Ivan finds them. Not only did he find Firebird, but he also found their right-hand woman, Princess Helene, and their dealer, Goldmaine. No, not a drug dealer guys. He manages the resources.
Just like in the original story, the elder brothers, blinded by jealousy and rage, kill Ivan and take all the prisoners to experiment on them.
In a world where bioethics limits are set further than ours, Piotr and Vassili would still be considered monsters if their experiments were to be unveiled to the world.
Under the golden tree, where they brought their dead little brother and all of the other prisoners, happen things you don’t even want to hear about...
